This week in summary:

↗ As inflation concerns subside, last week saw European natural gas prices fall back to pre-energy crisis levels. Prices fell to €22.9/MWh as strong imports of LNG and warmer weather reduced demand.

↗ In macro news, it’s a relatively quiet week however, it is worth looking out for Japanese inflation data today. The rate for December was 2.6%.

↗ On the 29th, the Fed’s preferred measure of inflation, the PCE Price Index for January, will be updated. On March 1st, flash core inflation data in the EU will be released.

↗ In earnings news, last week was dominated by Nvidia’s latest earnings report. Both the top and bottom lines surpassed analysts' expectations, driving a rally in the stock price, up 20% after the announcement.

↗ This week will see the release of Berkshire Hathaway’s quarterly earnings on the 26th. So far this year the stock is up a healthy 15.5%.

↗ Other earnings to keep an eye out for are Workday on the 26th and Salesforce on the 28th. Salesforce shares are up c.79% over the last year as the company has benefitted from momentum in AI.
